Your pre-kindergartener will explore our monthly themes as they prepare their independence, social, emotional and cognitive learning skills! Developed by seasoned early elementary educators, this program includes learning goals and expectations of an all-encompassing elementary learning environment. Our program provides elements of structure that integrates foundational academic learning skills, while maintaining an element of play-centered experiences. Your child will explore the preschool version of the Experience Early Learning curriculum AND lessons developed to build foundational literacy skills based on the Science of Reading. With our experience, your child and family can confidently begin their academic career.

Following a group plan, led by a teacher, is a learned behavioral social skill. At Creative Minds, we see this social skill being at the foundation of a successful learner in a school environment. Being a member of a class community requires many social skills involving following a plan and regulating oneself. Intentional learning moments are crafted throughout the day to give children opportunities to develop this important foundational social skill in a safe environment with trained educators.

While our pace may shift in doing a group plan, expected and predictable routines create a safe environment, allowing everyone to complete a goal as a community!

Creative Minds is the perfect place for your future kindergartener!

With so many pre-k options, it may be challenging to pick the best for your child. That’s where our unique and powerful program comes into play.

Contrary to popular belief, kindergarten success has MUCH less to do with ABCs and 123s, and much MORE to do with knowing how to be a student with a new group of friends! At Creative Minds, we are committed to fostering the necessary skills, confidence and independence to help your child THRIVE during their kindergarten year and beyond.

We know because this program has been developed by certificated kindergarten teachers who have seen this magical transition with our own eyes. With decades of experience, we know what REALLY matters.

Pre-Literacy Skills

Activities emphasizing language, letter sounds, rhyme and familiarization the alphabet. Recognizing, building and writing our names paired with intentional read-alouds, songs, and wordplay to build language and literary confidence.

Social-Emotional Skills

Learning how to play fair, follow a group plan, and develop a sense of agency. When students have the tools to navigate social experiences, they feel confident to take on the big kindergarten transition with pride and awareness.

Independence

From separating from family for the first time, eating in a group and opening their lunches to independently getting their backpack on and asking for help when needed, independence is KEY when your child transitions into a big, busy kindergarten classroom of 18 + friends and 1 teacher.

Foundational Math Skills

Counting, exploring numbers, comparing, and categorizing are all an embedded part of our curriculum that helps set the stage for further math learning with a true understanding of the Base 10 System.

Motor Skills

Motor skills are embedded across our program. Gross (big) movement skills will help your child develop physically, navigate their space at school, and understand their body in a space. Fine (small) motor skills help strengthen hand muscles and refine movements so your child will be ready to write, draw and manipulate without fatigue, zip their own backpack, and more.
